Is HHC the New THC? The Awesome Benefits of HHC

March 16, 2023 By Ivy Cosca

Many of those who want to include cannabis in their lifestyle may find it difficult to find the perfect one for them. The great thing about having different cannabis varieties, derivatives, and isomers is you can get to choose which one is best suited for you. If the Delta-8 and Delta-9 debacle seems too intimidating to get into, HHC is also another rapidly growing hemp derivative — and it seems as though the benefits of HHC outweigh the side effects and potential problems other cannabis products come with — from what’s been researched, at least!

Here are some reasons why HHC is becoming a new stoner favorite:

4 Benefits of HHC You Can Enjoy

benefits of HHC, what is HHC

1. It typically doesn’t come with the zombie-like type of high

HHC or Hexahydrocannabinol was discovered when a chemist, Roger Adams, added hydrogen to a THC molecule. However, despite HHC being a THC product, most commercial HHC is derived from hemp (and not marijuana). Which means they source the compounds from weed strains that barely have THC in it. Therefore, the main compound that is being extracted is CBD.

That’s also why most HHC-users reported that the high HHC gives them is similar to how THC is to stoners — but it’s said to be a milder version of the high. There are still feelings of intoxication, euphoria, and relaxation. But again, only on a milder level! Moreover, since HHC is still derived from cannabis, the commonly-associated benefits of the herb also come with it — such as its anti-inflammatory, anxiety-reducing, and pain-relieving properties.

2. HHC is legal on a federal level

For now, HHC is legal. Like Delta 8, as long as HHC is derived from hemp, it should comply with most states’ laws when it comes to its legality. But most states are yet to look into HHC — as its popularity has only grown in the past few years. Moreover, almost every state has different laws regarding cannabis and whether or not it can be used solely for medicinal purposes — or if residents can also use it recreationally.

3. It comes in various forms

Gone are the days when the only way one can get high from cannabis is smoking it via a joint, bong, or pipe. Now that experts know which specific compounds give certain types of high and other benefits, they can now be extracted and infused in different types of products. These days, you can enjoy the benefits of HHC through gummies and vape cartridges — but HHC can also be smoked the old-school way; if you prefer that!

4. HHC can be the “introductory” cannabis option

HHC is becoming increasingly popular in Europe and the US. Since the effects and benefits of HHC are milder than those of THC, many first-time cannabis users are opting for HHC instead. Furthermore, since it comes in various forms and is legal in most places, HHC is becoming more accessible.

Those who don’t regularly incorporate cannabis into their lifestyle can also enjoy having a stash of HHC around — HHC is believed to be the most stable form of THC. No need to worry about your supply going stale or keeping it in the dark so as to not damage its potency.

Final Thoughts

There seem to be several benefits of HHC that many can get on board with. Unlike THC and its derivatives, and despite HHC having a THC-like high, it’s legal and the effects are milder. However, since HHC has only grown in popularity recently, there might be side effects that experts are yet to find out and warn us about. The legality of HHC may also be put into question in the future. Lastly, there’s not much harm in trying new cannabis products — but always proceed with caution.
