Pasco is ushering in 2021 with more shops, restaurants

December 22, 2020 By Special to The Laker/Lutz News

Shopping centers along State Road 54 and State Road 56 are continuing to attract more new stores and restaurants.

The Cypress Creek Town Center, Tampa Premium Outlets, The Preserve Marketplace, the Shoppes at Crossings Boulevard, Starkey Ranch Town Square, Starkey Ranch Business Center, The Shops at Wiregrass and the Grove at Wesley Chapel are building and remodeling in anticipation of new openings.

Total Wine & More is moving into the Cypress Creek Town Center in space formerly occupied by the Earth Fare grocery store.

The building, at 25535 Sierra Center Blvd., will undergo “interior alteration” for a remodel, according to a permit filed with Pasco County.

The town center, at the juncture of Interstate 75 and state roads 54 and 56, soon also will have a grand opening for Floor & Décor, now under construction on Sierra Center Boulevard. And, a Good Feet Store is on tap for the boulevard, too, according to county records.

A Hooters restaurant is under construction at the Shoppes at Crossings Boulevard at State Road 54 and Suncoast Parkway.

Across from the town center, construction is underway on an outparcel at Tampa Premium Outlets for a Tidal Wave Car Wash. A Zaxby’s restaurant also is anticipated. Recent arrivals at the outdoor mall include Main Event, Cigars International and Rock & Brew restaurant.

Along State Road 54, west of U.S. 41, online shopping will get a boost from an Amazon shipping center under construction at 17030 Mentmore Blvd. The facility is within the Bexley by Newland master-planned community, at the intersection with Bexley Village Drive.

E sushi & grill is open at the Starkey Ranch Town Square, at Gunn Highway and State Road 54 in Odessa.

The Shoppes at Crossings Boulevard, west of Bexley, is completing a makeover with a Hooters restaurant under construction. And, Pasco County just sealed a deal to bring Santander Consumer USA to occupy a portion of the former Target Superstore. The deal includes bringing 875 new jobs to the county.

Rasmussen College also previously submitted plans to the county, indicating it would occupy 44,000 square feet in the former big box retail store.

Further west, The Preserve Marketplace and two shopping centers by Starkey Ranch, off State Road 54, have construction work in progress. But, some shops and restaurants are open.

Amazon is building a shipping center at 17030 Mentmore Blvd., at the Bexley at Newland community, off State Road 54 and Suncoast Parkway.

CVS Pharmacy is open at The Preserve, along with the anchor grocery store, Greenwise. Majik Touch Cleaners is open, and 100 % Chiropractic is coming soon. Other businesses coming are Heartland Dental,  Chipotle, Panera Bread and Papa John’s.

At Gunn Highway and State Road 54, Publix is the anchor of the Starkey Ranch Town Square. Other tenants include e sushi & grill, J. Joseph Salon, The UPS Store, Polish The Nail Bar, and Zampelli’s Pizza and Pasta restaurant.

At Heart Pine Avenue, the Starkey Ranch Business Center hosts shops and restaurants including The Wicked Pour, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Yoga Six and Hungry Greek restaurant.

Tidal Wave Car Wash is under construction on an outparcel at Tampa Premium Outlets, off State Road 54.

The Shops at Wiregrass, off State Road 56 and Bruce B. Downs, and the Grove at Wesley Chapel, off State Road 54 west of Interstate 75, both are welcoming new stores and restaurants, too.

The Grove is in the midst of a major makeover, in progress, following the $64 million purchase of the shopping center by Mishorim Gold Properties in 2019.

The company is investing more than $110 million to renovate the Grove. Plans include a shipping container park – known as KRATE – with shops, offices and restaurants. A stage will feature daily live entertainment. A dog park and a playground will build on the overall design in promoting a community place in Wesley Chapel.

On its Facebook page, the Grove recently began teasing to future tenants at the container park with the “12 Days of KRATEmas.” Among the tenants are 365 Café Italiano; ATO, specializing in sushi and burritos; Provisions, with specialty coffees and an artisan café menu; and The Cake Girl.

Floor & Décor will open soon at Cypress Creek Town Center in a shopping center on Sierra Center Boulevard. Also, a Total Wine & More is slated to move into the Earth Fare space.

RAW, a workspace collaborative, held a grand opening Dec. 3.

In addition, Prime Barbershop and Brooklyn Water Bagels recently opened. King of the Coop, a Nashville hot chicken eatery, soon will open, too, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page. It will be the second location for King of the Coop, currently located in the restaurant-rich Seminole Heights neighborhood in Tampa.

County permits also show Best NY Pizza Worx is coming to 6027 Wesley Grove Blvd., in the Grove.

The Shops at Wiregrass has opened, or will soon open, 11 new shops, according to a news release from the mall.

New shops are Beauty In Abundance, a beauty, hair care and make-up shop; Crimson Chain Leatherworks, specializing in costumes and accessories for Renaissance fairs, fantasy and historical reenactments; and Arega NY, a swim and activewear boutique.

Additional stores include a lululemon Pop-Up, specializing in yoga-inspired and athletic clothes for women and men; Chuck Lager’s American Tavern, a family restaurant with a classic menu of pasta and burgers; GO! Calendars Games and Toys; Ornament Shoppe, with decorative and personalized ornament selections; Design Hut, a boutique with personalized gifts including custom shirts; Hickory Farms, featuring cured meats, cheeses, wine pairings and hand-picked fruits; and, Fit2Run, a superstore with brand name athletic footwear, running apparel and accessories.

Sephora, a makeup and accessories boutique, is slated to open in spring 2021.

Help Bexley Celebrate Its 3rd Birthday!

October 30, 2019 By Special to The Laker/Lutz News

Milestones are worth celebrating. In November, Bexley by Newland rings in being a part of the Pasco Community for the past three years!

A lot has happened in that short period of time. Not only has Bexley earned accolades from Real Estate advising group, RCLCO, has the top-selling community in Tampa Bay and one of the top 50 in the U.S., it also has been honored with a host of national and regional awards.

As Bexley has grown up, it has become a vibrant, planned community. Families don’t have to travel very far to enjoy Bexley’s outstanding amenities, which include resort-style pools, parks, fitness center, café, bike shop, BMX track, and miles of multi-purpose trails.

Residents often share that what makes Bexley so unique is the close-knit, family feel they just haven’t experienced elsewhere.

“Bexley is growing into the community we envisioned,” said Pam Parisi, vice president of marketing for Newland. “It’s truly a special place and offers something for everyone, especially those who are looking for an active, outdoor lifestyle, and greater connections with each other. It’s a wonderful community to be a part of, whether you’re a family with kids, buying your first home, or looking to downsize.”

Outstanding Schools
Bexley Elementary School opened within the community in the Fall of 2017 on 18 acres donated by Newland.

The schools zoned for Bexley residents — Bexley Elementary, Rushe Middle School and Sunlake High School — are all A-rated by the State of Florida. Imagine School at Land O’ Lakes, a charter school just minutes from Bexley, also has earned top marks.

Top-Notch New Builders
This year, Bexley added two new partners to its outstanding list of homebuilders. Arthur Rutenberg Homes and Pulte Homes join Cardel Homes, David Weekley Homes, Homes by WestBay, and Lennar in offering a wide variety of single-family and luxury homes in the community.

Custom homebuilder Arthur Rutenberg recently opened its Avalon model home at Bexley. Rutenberg homebuyers can choose from 19 different floor plans that were created just for the community. Pulte, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, offers three flexible home designs located near Bexley Elementary. Pulte’s homes allow for personalization and feature the company’s 10-year protection plan warranty.

A New Vision for a 55+ Community
Pulte is no stranger to Bexley. Last year, the company opened its Del Webb at Bexley 55+ active adult neighborhood near the intersection of Sunlake Boulevard and Tower Road. Pre-sales for the community’s second phase of low-maintenance homes are expected very soon, with its sales center already open. Del Webb at Bexley’s expansive 17,000-square-foot clubhouse is on track to open in early 2020.

Nearby Community Comforts
Bexley residents enjoy all the comforts they need in a growing town. The community has attracted nearby conveniences, such as the AdventHealth Emergency Department, a SpringHill Suites hotel, and a RaceTrac gas station and convenience store. Additional dining and retail areas are also in the works.

In three short years, Bexley has earned many honors, but the best acclaim is from the hundreds of families who now call Bexley home, and are busy making memories that they will cherish for a lifetime.

Bexley Is Top-Selling Community In Tampa Bay

August 28, 2019 By Special to The Laker/Lutz News

Prospective homebuyers don’t have to travel far to experience one of the country’s best master-planned communities. Real estate advising group, RCLCO, has named Bexley by Newland the top-selling master-planned community in Tampa Bay, and one of the top 50 in the United States, in its annual survey.

At Bexley, home sales are up more than 45 percent at the mid-year mark this year, compared to the same time last year. That is in comparison to a national average increase of 3%, according to the survey.

“It’s always rewarding to see our community plans come to life,” said Pam Parisi, vice president of marketing for Newland. “Becoming the best-selling community in Tampa Bay is part strategic planning, part providing home designs for a range of buyers, and part incredible word-of-mouth from our Bexley families who are constantly sharing their pride in this great community.”

Bexley offers a variety of floor plans from low-maintenance townhomes, to one- and two-story single-family starting in the mid $200,000s, as well as luxury homes, from some of the best-known builders in the country.

Homebuyers can tour 11 models at Bexley, built by Cardel Homes, David Weekley Homes, Lennar, Homes by West Bay and Arthur Rutenberg Homes. Pulte will soon join the community’s list of builders, with the opening of its model home later this year. Del Webb Bexley, a 55-plus community, also offers an additional six model homes to tour.

Located in Land O’ Lakes along the in-demand State Road 54 corridor, Bexley provides a prime location convenient to many of the area’s diverse attractions.

At the heart of the award-winning community is The Bexley Club, where people enjoy scenic lakefront views at the Twisted Sprocket Café. The restaurant is open to the public for breakfast, lunch and happy hour, and offers an outstanding menu of breakfast items, gourmet lunches, desserts, smoothies, wine, craft beer and coffee drinks.

Next door to the clubhouse, Suncoast Trailside Bicycles sells a variety of bikes, gear and clothing, and offers repairs and rentals. If you’re looking to cycle around the community or hit the Bexley BMX pump track, you’ll find everything you need at this one-stop shop.

Two additional buildings make up The Bexley Club: a cardio-focused fitness center and a screened-in game room with air hockey, foosball and a pool table. There are also two resort-style pools, an outdoor fire pit and an event lawn.

Bexley was designed so that residents can enjoy the great outdoors. The community is home to miles of multi-surface Avid™ trails, ideal for walking, biking, jogging and strollers. Along the way, residents can utilize several Fit Stations, which add fun and variety to workouts.

Several community parks dot the landscape at Bexley. Sports lovers of all ages use Mud, Sweat and Gears Park for impromptu soccer or football games, and younger kids spend hours on the custom-built wonderland designed by Asheville Playgrounds. Dogs and their owners enjoy the BarkYard, a park to call their own with separate spaces for big and small dogs.

Best of all, Bexley offers an exclusive Resident for a Day program, which gives potential residents a chance to experience the amenities, trails and café first-hand. To learn more, visit BexleyFlorida.com, or call (813) 425-7555.

Bexley Trail Blazers Club Enjoys Outdoor Camaraderie

March 27, 2019 By Special to The Laker/Lutz News

Living in Tampa Bay means enjoying outstanding weather year-round and ample outdoor activities. For residents in Bexley by Newland, one of Pasco County’s premier master-planned communities, the Bexley lifestyle also means having a wide range of activities and amenities just minutes from your doorstep.

The Bexley Trail Blazers is a group of residents, nearby neighbors and friends who enjoy monthly walks through the community’s trails. Pictured L-R: Robert Krahn, Stephanie Krahn (and their dog Nala), Daniela Pavlik, Bryan Cooper, Denise Semeniuk, Nick Grimaudo, Jay Michlin, Jean Grimaudo, Jodie Johnson, Scott Waite, Larry Oliver and Jessica Robinson.

Nestled among 1,825 acres of pastoral ranch lands, mature woodlands and cypress wetlands, Bexley offers exceptional trails to walk, bike and run. The newly formed Bexley Trail Blazers, whose members are residents and guests, gather each month to explore one of the community trails, which vary in length between a quarter mile to nearly two miles.

The group usually meets on the second Friday of the month, not only for exercise, but also camaraderie. All are welcome to join. A schedule of Trail Blazers events is available at BexleyFlorida.com, or on the Bexley by Newland Facebook Page.

“We help members discover places within their community they might not have known about,” said Jessica Robinson, marketing manager for Bexley. “Our residents enjoy getting to know each other in a fun, casual setting. Not only have residents been exploring the trails together, they’ve been sharing them with their friends from other nearby communities and inviting them to join the group.”

Along their walks, Trail Blazers get a chance to enjoy the canopy of cypress trees, listen to the variety of bird songs and even catch a glimpse of an alligator or two.

The Allure of Amenities
Bexley’s dual-surface trails were designed by outdoor-living pioneer Avid Trails. Several of them include Fit Stations to keep workouts interesting and fresh. The community also offers open space for sports fields, a BMX bicycle pump park, and custom-made playgrounds, as well as two dog parks, one for large breeds and the other for small.

Suncoast Trailside Bicycles is also located right within the community. The business offers sales, repairs and rentals six days a week at the lakefront Bexley Club, which is also home to the Twisted Sprocket Café. The public cafe offers a menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, coffee, wine and beer.

Two additional buildings make up The Bexley Club: a cardio-focused fitness center and a screened-in game room with air hockey, foosball, and a pool table. There are also two resort-style pools, an outdoor fire pit and an event lawn for community events and gatherings.

Residents Connect
The Trail Blazers club isn’t the only way for residents to meet and connect. From October through May, Bexley hosts a monthly Saturday Morning Market, which features an array of unique vendors and goods. The next Morning Market is April 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community’s Spring Garage Sale is being held in conjunction with the April market, and invites residents to host individual sales, all on the same day.

On the third Friday of each month, residents and guests gather for Happy Hour at the Twisted Sprocket Café from 5 to 8 p.m. with drinks, café specials and complimentary snacks.

Located in Land O’Lakes in central Pasco County, north of State Road 54 and just east of the Suncoast Parkway, Bexley provides a prime location that’s just 26 miles from downtown Tampa and convenient to many of the area’s diverse attractions.

Not only do residents rave about all there is to do at Bexley, the community has garnered numerous awards, including a Best in American Living Award for best single-family community from the National Association of Home Builders. It also was recognized as the best master-planned community and best recreational facility from the Southeast Building Conference.

Want to know more? Bexley allows families searching for a new home to test out all of the trails and amenities through its exclusive Resident for a Day program. To learn more, visit BexleyFlorida.com.
