More than a hundred people turned out to run, or perhaps stroll, during the 2022 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Florida on April 12.
The event was held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Tampa Premium Outlets, 2300 Grand Cypress Drive, in Lutz.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco led the torch run, and was delighted by the turnout.
One of the special touches at the event was a balloon arch, set up on the bridge over the pond in the Tampa Premium Outlet concourse.
Over 400 balloons were used to decorate the bridge, according to Shannon Brzuchalski, director of marketing and business development.
“Tampa Premium Outlets is honored to partner with the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office to hold the Special Olympics of Florida 2022 Torch Run. We are proud to be a strong community partner to host great events and bring awareness to an amazing nonprofit organization,” she said.
More than 100 Special Olympians took part in the Torch Run at the Tampa Premium Outlets, with Special Olympians representing various Pasco County schools.
The communities of Wesley Chapel and Land O’ Lakes had many participants at the event.
