The Veterans Council of Hillsborough County will have a Field of Honor Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, 3602 U.S. 301 N in Tampa, on Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. The event will honor service members in the Army Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard who have lost their lives during the past three months while engaged in Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Service members who were killed by a gunman at the Chattanooga, Tennessee military reserve center also will be honored. There will be a flyover, a rifle salute, the playing of “Taps” and the POW/MIA Chair of Honor on display. For information, call (813) 744-5502.
