The American Lung Association announced it will host its Fight For Air Climb Tampa, presented by Raymond James, at the Bank of America Plaza, on April 6, to help fund the work to end lung disease and save lives, according to a news release. This year marks the 19th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb, the stair-climbing event on the Gulf Coast. The climb is designed for every type of participant, from beginners to competitive climbers to first responders in full gear. Participants determine their pace. The Bank of America Plaza has 42 floors and 914 steps. Registration for the climb is open for individuals and teams, which can include friends, families, companies and organizations. Health Needs Assessment
Every three years the Florida Department of Health-Pasco conducts a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The survey ensures the department is able to gather data and hear from community members, particularly those underserved, to support the development of programs and services to meet the community’s needs. The data drives decision-making as a community on where priorities need to be. To be eligible to take the survey, Pasco County residents must be at least 18 years of age or older. The survey has 16 questions with several follow-up items depending on answers. There are also eight demographic questions. Documentary screening
A-Town Community Inc., will present a screening of the film, “In a Different Key,” on April 11 at 7:30 p.m., at the Tampa Theatre, 711 N. Franklin St., in downtown Tampa. A-Town is a nonprofit organization founded to develop a modern, supported residential community for adults with autism. The film is “a true story of love, autism, and the fight to belong,” according to a news release. There will be a brief panel discussion after the documentary. Attendees must be age 13 and older. Pasco Wellness Fest
NAMI Pasco County (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will host its first-ever Pasco Wellness Fest on May 18, at 10500 Wilderness Park Blvd., in New Port Richey. The event will feature the reveal of the Sasquatch Mental Wellness Trail, NAMI Pasco Heroes of Hope Awards, a DJ, games, resources, and more. Free event space is available for wellness-based nonprofits, on a first-come, first-served basis. Nominations will be accepted for outstanding wellness professionals. This family friendly event’s goal is to elevate your senses, ignite your energy, and help to make positive changes to your well-being.
