The Hillsborough River State Park Preservation Society will host its 23rd annual “Haunted Woods” event Oct. 23 and Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the park at 15402 U.S. 301 in Thonotosassa. There will be a haunted trail, coloring contest, and a costume contest both nights. There also will be a family tram ride on Oct. 24. The cost is $10 for ages 13 and older, and free for those ages 12 and younger. Proceeds will benefit the preservation society. For information, call (813) 987-6771.
