Bass Pro Shops, 10501 Palm River Road in Brandon, will host a free open house, “An Evening for Conservation,” on July 29 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting and short ceremony at 6 p.m. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. There also will be giveaways; celebrities including former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Mike Alstott and game fish artist Steve Whitlock; and experts will be there to answer questions about fishing, hunting and boating. Fifty percent of each dollar spent at the store during the open house will be donated to Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation.
