The “Hernando County Pie Festival” is set for Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 Broad St., in Brooksville. There will be more than 50 craft vendors, free entertainment, a pie bake-off with prizes, a pie-eating contest, and a pie buffet. Admission is $5 per person. Children younger than 12 are free. The 27th annual “Florida Bug Jam” will be Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52 in Dade City. There will be craft beer, food, live music, new and used part vendors, and more than 800 Volkswagens. On Nov. 7, there will be “Bugs on the Track,” a dune-style track for anyone who wants to drive their VW on an off-road course. There also will be “Bug War Games,” which includes valve cover racing. Crews Lake Wilderness Park, 16739 Crews Lake Drive in Spring Hill, will host the “Playing It Forward Music Festival” Nov. 7 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The festival is sponsored by Pay It Forward Farm, a nonprofit organization to help single moms get help with a hand-up, rather than a handout.
