The Hugh Embry Library, 14215 Fourth St., in Dade City, will host these upcoming events:

  • Facebook class on Oct. 11 from noon to 2 p.m. Participants should bring their own laptop or tablet, and your email address and password. Reservations are needed.
  • Make Your Own Greeting Card class on Oct. 12 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., for adults. The two-session class is free for adults. Reservations are limited to 12 people.

The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will meet on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m., at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd. The guest speaker will be Gregg Jones on the topic of “Rainbow’s End Native Plants: From Advocating for a No Irrigation Landscape to a Native Plant Nursery Business.” Light refreshments will be served, and there will be a native plant drawing. Ulta Beauty Salon at The Grove in Wesley Chapel will host its annual “Cut for a Cause” on Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Men’s Club and Sisterhood of Congregation Kol Ami will sponsor a bowling league, which will meet every other Sunday at 6 p.m., at Royal Lanes, 1927 Brinson Road in Lutz. The University of South Florida Sun Dome arena will host ROBOTICON Tampa Bay on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can watch the first Stronghold competition, tour team pits, talk to students, visit the Innovation Fair for STEM demos, vendors and organizations, and tour the USF campus.
