Tarpon Springs Oktoberfest’s festivities start on Oct. 7 at 10 a.m., and continue on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9. The GFWC Pasco Junior Women’s Club and the GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club are teaming up with local vendors to raise awareness and funds for the Sunrise Domestic & Sexual Violence Center. The GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club will host its annual Domestic Violence Shower, Luncheon & Bunco Party on Oct. 6 at the Lutz Community Center, 101 First Ave., N.W., to benefit two local domestic violence shelters for women and children. Anne Sawl, a junior at Land O’ Lakes High School, is organizing a book drive for a community service project, to benefit the children at Lacoochee Elementary School. Books can be dropped off at Pine View Middle School, 5334 Parkway Blvd., in Land O’ Lakes, during the week of Oct. 10. There will be donation boxes in Pine View’s cafeteria.
