Local photographer exhibit
Pasco-Hernando State College will display photography by local photographer Richard K. Riley at its East Campus, 36727 Blanton Road in Dade City, through July 28. The exhibit is entitled “North East Pasco: Illustrations of Rural Life.” Riley’s photographs illustrate existing rural homes in Pasco County’s “rural protected area,” an area created to preserve a rural atmosphere in a relatively unspoiled part of Florida. Sparklebration will take place on July 4 at the Pasco County Fairgrounds, 36722 State Road 52 in Dade City. Gates open at 4 p.m. There will be live entertainment with The Dennis Lee Show and Elvis, eating contests, skydivers, kids’ bounce houses and jumpers, pony rides and a petting zoo, games and fireworks. Skydive City, 4241 Skydive Lane in Zephyrhills, will host a Fourth of July celebration on July 4. Gates open at 6 p.m. There will be live music from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., and fireworks at 9 p.m. Guests can purchase a barbecue dinner for $10, and should bring a chair, blanket or cushion. The cost is $5 per person ages 12 and older.
07/04/2016 – Lutz Fourth of July
Fourth of July festivities will take place in Lutz at 101 First Ave., N.E. on July 4. The 5k race starts at 8 a.m., followed by the 1-mile fun run and family walk at 8:45 a.m. There will be a flag-raising ceremony at 9 a.m., and trophies presented at 9:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., the community parade starts. At 11 a.m., there will be a cake bake auction, parade trophies presented and the new Guv’na inauguration. Food items will be available for purchase from the GFWC Lutz-Land O’ Lakes Woman’s Club, Boy Scout Troop 12 and a variety of vendors.
