Big Cat Rescue and Tampa Bay Brewing Company will host the “Big Cat & Brew Run” on May 9 at the brewing company’s Westchase location, 13937 Monroe’s Business Park in Tampa. Runners laps and a kids’ 1-mile fun run start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the beer drinkers run and relay at 7:30 p.m., both with prizes. Tickets are $10 per 1-mile lap, and $60 for a three-person team. Pay at the door, cash only. All proceeds will go to support Big Cat Rescue’s mission of providing a safe home for lions, tigers, bobcats, cougars and other big cats.

The Market Place will be open in Hibiscus Park, Seventh Street and Bougainvillea Avenue, in Dade City, on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with entertainment from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This outdoor vendor experience will include birdbaths and feeders, fruit and vegetables, homemade cookies, soaps, bath salts and bubble bath bars, honey products and more. Dogs on a leash are welcome, but guests must bring a baggie to pick up after their pet. Admission is free.
