Be a thrift shop volunteer
Gulfside Hospice is looking for volunteers for all five of its thrift shops. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old, and commit to at least four hours per week. Volunteers also receive a discount while shopping at the thrift shops. Orientation sessions will be scheduled throughout the month of April. Boy Scouts’ metal drive
Boy Scout Troop 33 of Land O’ Lakes is hosting a metal drive through May 16. All money from recycling will go to the troop.
All metal will be accepted, as well as appliances, grills, swing sets, compressors, electric motors, pots and pans, wire, old bicycles, garage doors, metal fencing, circuit boards, junk cars, radiators and more. Cars will be towed for free.
Donations can be dropped off in a bin at the back of the parking lot at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 2348 Collier Parkway in Land O’ Lakes. Aluminum cans go in the container by the dumpsters at the church.
Metal also can be taken directly to Pasco Iron & Metal at 21240 Lake Patience Road in Land O’ Lakes (tag the donation for the troop and ask for receipt).
