Cooking show & dinner
The East Pasco Seventh-day Adventist Church, 7333 Daughtery Road in Zephyrhills, will present a free vegetarian cooking show and dinner with Chef Mark Anthony on Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 at 6 p.m.
Guests can learn about plant-based cooking, and how to lower cholesterol, lose weight and increase energy by choosing the right foods and cooking them correctly. Guests also will get to eat all the entrees and side dishes that are prepared.

Diabetes self-management
The Medical Center of Trinity, 9330 State Road 54, will offer a diabetes self-management workshop on Wednesdays at 1 p.m., starting Feb. 3 through March 9.
The workshop will cover techniques to deal with symptoms, appropriate exercise, appropriate use of medication, and working effectively with health care providers.
Participants can make weekly action plans, share experiences, and help each other solve problems in creating and carrying out the self-management program.

The Heart Institute at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point will host a 3K Run for Your Life and 3K Heart Walk on Feb. 6 at 8 a.m., on the hospital’s campus. Walkers and runners will meet at the Rao Musunuru MD Conference Center, 14100 Yosemite Drive in Hudson.
Registration starts at 8 a.m., followed by warm-ups at 8:30 a.m. The run/walk will start at 9 a.m., with a reception afterward. There also will be musical entertainment and drawings.
