The annual Kumquat Festival “Miss & Mr. Kumquat Festival Pageant” will be Jan. 16 at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Dade City. The Pioneer Florida Museum & Village, 15602 Pioneer Museum Road in Dade City, will host the Pasco County Historical Society on Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. The topic will be old time music, with the Chicken Gizzards Old Time String Band. Hillsborough County Commissioner Kevin Beckner, District 6, will host office hours at the Robert W. Sanders Sr. Public Library, 1505 N. Nebraska Ave., in Tampa, on Jan. 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can meet with the commissioner, one-on-one, to share ideas and voice concerns. No appointment is necessary. The Land O’ Lakes Library, 2818 Collier Parkway, will host “Project Upcycle” on Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon, for ages 9 and older. Upcycling is the art of making unused household items into fun and useful crafts. Materials will be provided. From noon to 2 p.m., the makerspace will be open for visitors with their own projects. The 11th annual “Suncoast Arts Festival” will take place Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Jan. 17 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at The Shops at Wiregrass, 28211 Paseo Drive in Wesley Chapel. The festival will feature more than 125 fine artists and craftsmen, live music and dance, chalk art, a hands-on kid’s art garden, and on Jan. 17 there will be glass etching. The Greater Zephyrhills Chamber of Commerce will present its annual “Pigz in Z’Hills BBQ and Blues Festival” on Jan. 16 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, 39450 South Ave., in Zephyrhills. There will be barbecue competitions, music, food, a family fun zone, car show, business expo, and access to the WWII Museum of Military History and the airport aviation displays. The “Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival” will run Jan. 14 through Jan. 23. The festival will include family friendly arts, culture and musical events. Other events include a 5K Walk/Run for Health, a Heritage Gala, a Heritage Leadership Luncheon, a golf tournament, Heritage Youth Night, Heritage Gospel Night, and a financial seminar and lecture series.
