The women of the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America Cairo Court 97 of Zephyrhills will provide free Christmas-themed face painting and balloon twisting at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills’ 31st annual Christmas tree lighting on Dec. 6. The event will start at noon and will end with fireworks at last light. Santa will arrive via horse-drawn carriage, and Mayor Gene Whitfield will light the trees. The SE Section of the Ninety-Nines Inc., an international women pilots’ organization, is honoring World War II veterans, The WASP (Women Air Force Service Pilots), with a Give-Back event at Chili’s on Dec. 7 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Proceeds from meal purchases at Chili’s, 13050 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood, and at 8510 W. Hillsborough Ave., in Tampa, will be used to defray the travel and lodging expenses to bring the individuals to the Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-In & Expo in April, 2016.
