The Oakdale Christmas House light display, 2719 Oakdale St., S., in St. Petersburg, will run from Nov. 27 through Jan. 3, 2016, nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. The display is a half-acre covered with 250,000 lights. There are walkways with animated dolls and animals, water fountains, a computerized music light show, a small pond, a nearly three-story high snowman, a scale model railroad with 18 trains, an airport with moving planes and a working carnival, as well as a double bubble machine. The 22nd annual Flapjack 5K Race in memory of Coach Kris Keppel will take place Dec. 13 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway. Registration begins at 7 a.m., followed by the 5K race at 8 a.m., and a 1-mile Fun Run at 8:45 a.m. Those who register by Nov. 27 will receive a custom T-shirt.
