San Ann Liquor & Lounge will host a benefit for Mark Smith, a lifelong resident of San Antonio diagnosed with bile duct cancer, on Nov. 14. The fundraiser will start with a golf tournament at 8 a.m. ($50 per player), at the Abbey Golf Course, followed by a noon barbeque chicken dinner for $5, a cornhole tournament at 2 p.m. ($25 per two-person team), and a firearm raffle and live auction at 6 p.m. There also will be $1 drafts, live music, giveaways, a silent auction and a 50-50 drawing. Atonement Lutheran Church, 29617 State Road 54 in Wesley Chapel, will host its annual “SOS Pancake Breakfast,” Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to noon, to benefit the Helping Hands Pantry of Atonement. Families who currently qualify for or receive government assistance can get free fresh food.
