FLU SHOTS AT HUMANA CENTER

The Humana Guidance Center, 7920 Gall Blvd., in Zephyrhills, will offer flu shots Sept. 15 and Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants must show proof of insurance at the time of service. All insurance will be accepted, and the flu shots are free with insurance. No cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted. No preregistration is necessary. NAMI BASICS PROGRAM

The National Alliance on Mental Illness Hernando County will offer a free six-week NAMI Basics educational program starting Sept. 15 at 6:30 p.m., at the NAMI Beautiful Mind Center, 10554 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill. The program is for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental illness. Topics will include an introduction, getting an accurate diagnosis, treatment options, communication skills, problem solving, crisis preparation and response, handling challenging behaviors, relapse planning, record keeping, and dealing with school and juvenile activities. Registration is required. PREPARED CHILDBIRTH

The obstetrics program at Medical Center of Trinity, 9330 State Road 54, will offer a six-week prepared childbirth class starting Sept. 16. Classes will meet one night per week from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The course is free. For information and to register, call (727) 834-5630.

GALLBLADDER SEMINAR

YOUR HEALTH AND FUNCTIONAL FOODS

The Health & Wellness Center at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, 2700 Healing Way, will host a Functional Foods presentation Sept. 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Guests can learn how functional foods have a positive effect on health beyond basic nutrition, and how the foods offer benefits to reduce the risk of disease and promote overall wellness. Admission is free for members, and $5 for non-members. GULFSIDE BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

Gulfside Hospice will offer these upcoming eight-week support groups for newly bereaved individuals. Participants can share information and experiences, and get emotional support from others. The groups will emphasize discussion and participation, while focusing on various aspects of grief and the healing process.

CLEAN EATING SEMINAR

The annual Community in Unity Fundraising Event will be Sept. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at New Beginnings Family Church, 18935 Michigan Lane in Spring Hill, off U.S. 41 just north of State Road 52. This is an indoor event with free gift bags for the first 50 guests, vendors, church rummage sale, food trucks, entertainment, raffle prizes, car seat checks, bounce house and the Blood One donation bus. Proceeds will go to the outreach programs at New Beginnings.
