9/12/2015 – FISHING TOURNAMENT BENEFIT
The first Eat Life Fishing Tournament will take place Sept. 12 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., at Tiki Cove on Lake Padgett, 2700 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., in Land O’ Lakes. The tournament is in memory of Austin Vonckx, a Sunlake High School graduate and freshman at Florida Atlantic University, who passed away suffering from an unknown heart condition.
The cost is $30 per person, and includes light breakfast and bottled water on the boats. All proceeds go directly to the Myocarditis Foundation.
Boats are limited to residents of Lake Padgett Estates and their guests. If you do not have a boat, one will be assigned to you.
Check-in and breakfast are at 7 a.m. The boats leave the dock at 7:30 a.m., and return at 10:30 a.m. Prizes will be awarded at 11 a.m.

Nurses receive recognition for excellence
Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point has award its inaugural Excellence in Nursing awards to Debra Brandt and Lisa Zielinski. Brandt, a nurse in the Spine Center, received the Professional Mentoring honor, and Zielinski, a cardiology nurse, received the Compassionate Care honor. Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point will host a Community Lunch & Learn Aug. 28 at the Rao Musunuru MD Conference Center, 14100 Yosemite Drive in Hudson.
The guest speaker will be Cheryl Pollock, director of Business Development & Community Services of Premier Community Healthcare Group. The discussion will be on the wide range of services offered by Premier.
