JOINT PROBLEMS SEMINAR

Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, will offer a Tuesday Tutorial on Joint Problems: Advances in Medical Therapy on Aug. 11, at the Rao Musunuru MD Conference Center, 14100 Yosemite Drive in Hudson. Registration begins at 11 a.m., followed by a complimentary lunch at 11:30 a.m., and then the tutorial at noon. Dr. Mohammed Mughni, board certified in rheumatology, will present the program. Reservations are required. 8/08/2015 – SUNCOAST CREDIT UNION SCHOOL FAIR

The annual Suncoast Credit Union Back to School Fair will be Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Westshore Plaza, 250 Wetshore Plaza in Tampa. The first 500 kids at the credit union booth will receive a free backpack filled with school supplies and goodies. There also will be live entertainment, hands-on activities, workshops, speaker sessions, a scavenger hunt and more. Local exhibitors will provide information on health and wellness, resources, child care, after-school programs, school supplies, tutors, finances and more. There will be giveaways every half hour. 8/05/2015 – BACK-TO-SCHOOL HAIRCUTS

The Hair Cuttery salons will be donating back-to-school haircuts for children in need this month. Through Aug. 15, for every child up to age 18 who purchases a haircut at one of the salons, one free haircut certificate will be donated to an underprivileged child in the same community. Bug’s Splatter art store, 5718 Sixth St., in Zephyrhills, will host artist Stuart Marcus, wildlife photographer, Aug. 8 and Aug. 11. Marcus will tell stories about photographs in his collection, and his art will be on display through October. Ridgewood High School, 7650 Orchid Lake Road in New Port Richey, will host a Back-to-School Bash Aug. 15 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., for Chasco Elementary, Calusa Elementary, Chasco Middle and Ridgewood High schools, and Fred K. Marchman Technical College students, parents, teachers and staff. There will be giveaways, school physicals, bike helmets, haircuts, dental care and more. Applications will be accepted for free and reduced lunches. Resource information will be available. Rosecastle of Zephyrhills, 374511 Eiland Blvd., will host a Back to School Bash Aug. 14 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is a carnival-style event with a dunk tank, obstacle course, cotton candy and more. U.S. Rep. Dennis A. Ross, senior deputy majority whip, will host a Town Hall on Aug. 4 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Lutz Elementary School, 202 Fifth Ave., S.E., in Lutz., 2015. Ross will answer questions from his constituents and the press for this event.
