Hillsborough, Corporation improve affordable housing
TAMPA – Hillsborough County and the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa recently celebrated the acquisition and improvement of a 96-unit affordable housing complex near Busch Gardens.
Armature Place Apartments offers one- and two-bedroom rental apartments for residents making 80% or less of Area Median Income.
The year-long project involved extensive renovations, including new kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops, flooring and appliances. Other work included major HVAC and plumbing improvements, new sidewalks and the addition of a racquetball court.
Hillsborough County contributed $16.2 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to help the Corporation to Develop Communities of Tampa purchase and rehabilitate the apartment complex.
