Wilson continues ‘Whirlwind’ year in Tampa

TAMPA – Lainey Wilson will bring her Whirlwind World Tour to Florida in March.

The Grammy, CMA and ACM Award-winning artist is planning a Tampa performance Nov. 7 at Amalie Arena and an Orlando concert Nov. 8 at Kia Center. 

Wilson is having a landmark year. She was nominated for Best Country Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards for her record, “Whirlwind,” released this past summer. 

“Whirlwind” earned Wilson her best sales week ever as the record debuted at No. 8 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart. It was her first top 10 entry. 

The album features her current Top 5 country radio single “4x4xU” which is geared up to be her eighth #1 hit. 

In just the past year, Wilson was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry; performed during the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Halftime Show; and won Best Country Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards, three awards at the 59th ACM Awards and two awards at the 58th CMA Awards, where she also made her hosting debut alongside Peyton Manning and Luke Bryan.

Grossology exhibit gets extension

TAMPA – The Museum of Science & Industry has decided to extend its Grossology: The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body through April 27.

Grossology takes a fun and informative look at the ooey gooey things that go on inside our bodies, such as runny noses and body odor, using sophisticated animatronics and imaginative hands-on exhibits.

TAMPA – Chris Distefano is coming back to Tampa Theatre, this time as part of his Chrissy Floridas tour.

The performance starts at 8 p.m. March 14. Tickets range from $38.50 to $78.50 plus taxes and fees. Buy them at the Franklin Street Box Office and at tampatheatre.org.

Distefano rose to success after performances on the “Guy Code/Girl Code” series. 

He went on to star in IFC’s “Benders,” co-host the Netflix gameshow “Ultimate Beastmaster,” and starred in his own CBS sitcom. In 2022, Chris was selected by Jimmy Kimmel to host Jimmy’s latest TV venture, “Super Maximum Retro Show,” for ViceTV.

His first full-length comedy special, “Size 38 Waist,” in 2019, encompassed his nice-guy charm and Brooklyn-born edge. His second special, “Speshy Weshy,” premiered on Netflix in May 2022. A third special is set to release in early 2025.

When Distefano isn’t on stage, he’s on his couch recording podcasts, such as “Chrissy Chaos” with Mike Cannon, “Hey Babe!” With Impractical Jokers’ Sal Vulcano, “History Hyenas” with Yannis Pappas, and “Teach Me Daddy” with Matteo Lane.

TAMPA – Jeremy Camp will perform his signature blend of heartfelt worship and personal storytelling in concert as part of the “These Days Tour” March 27 at Tampa Theatre. 

He will perform songs from his recent No. 1 album ‘Deeper Waters,’ as well as many of his familiar hits that have garnered him multiple artist of the year nods and even an artist of the decade top contender spot.

Earlier this year, Camp notched his 44th No. 1 single with “These Days,” the track that serves as the inspiration for this 21-date tour. The anthem is the lead single from his album “Deeper Waters,” which also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Christian chart and marked Camp’s highest album streaming debut of his career.

Between 2002 and 2024, Camp released 12 albums, five of them RIAA-certified as Gold. He has sold more than 6 million albums with 43 No. 1 singles across all formats. 

Outside of music, Jeremy had an international theatrical movie release in 2020 called “I Still Believe,” which hit No. 1 at the box office opening weekend. The film depicted his life story of love and the loss of his first wife after a battle with cancer. 

Tickets range from $29.75 to $74.75 plus taxes and fees. They went on sale Dec. 20 at the Franklin Street Box Office and at tampatheatre.org. A limited number of pre-show VIP add-on tickets will also be available in advance.
