CARES (Community Aging & Retirement Services) will offer the Chronic Pain Self-Management Program Jan. 25 to March 7 at the Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd. The program classes will be every Monday from 9:30 a.m. to noon, for six weeks. There will be no class on Feb. 15.
The program is designed to help people who have a primary or secondary diagnosis of chronic pain such as musculoskeletal pain of the neck, shoulder and back; fibromyalgia; whiplash injuries; ore repetitive strain injury. It can also benefit those who have conditions such as persistent headache, Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, diabetic neuropathy, or severe muscular pain due to conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
