‘Elvis’ was in the house

January 29, 2015 By Special to The Laker/Lutz News

Attention grandparents! If you want your teenage granddaughters to visit, just have Jimmy Smith entertain in your park as Palm Tree Acres did.

Tom and Jannett Peet’s granddaughters have been planning their vacations to Florida to coincide with Jimmy Smith’s visit for several years now. The girls are now 18 and 19 years old and helped Jimmy entertain by dancing and singing with him.

Of course, all of us seniors were thrilled, especially their grandparents!

Palm Tree Acres will be having various entertainment in the coming months. Crystal Gage and Ryan St. Denis will be here Feb. 9; the Music Ambassadors Big Band music on Feb. 26; and comedian Ken Holum on March 15.

All entertainment begins at 7 p.m., in our clubhouse. Tickets are $7 each and may be purchased at the door.

Our shufflers and horseshoe teams are in full swing and going to various parks to compete.

Our monthly soup and pie luncheon was Jan. 17 with four different soups and a large variety of pies. All were delicious!
