VSA Florida and VSA Arts of Nigeria together will celebrate the 40th anniversary of VSA International and the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act with an art exhibit, My Home, Our World, at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road in Tampa, on June 6 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The keynote speaker will be Ambassador Geoffrey Teneilabe, consul-general of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atlanta. The event will include artwork from Florida and Nigeria students, a Kuumba Drumming and Dance Troupe performance, and hands-on family art activities.

There also will be a free batik workshop June 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., for ages 12 and older of all abilities. Participants can learn the traditional paper batik process. The workshop is at the School of Art and Art History at the University of South Florida.
