NEW PORT RICHEY – The magic of local storytelling comes alive as Richey Suncoast Theatre presents “Fairy Tales Gone Local: Out of the Woods in Pasco County.”

Blending classic fairy tale tropes with Pasco County’s rich local heritage, this production features beloved landmarks, local folklore and relatable themes like balancing development with conservation.

With structured improvisation and audience participation, “Fairy Tales Gone Local” puts the spotlight on Pasco County residents, inviting them to take part in the story.
From pre-show mingling with whimsical characters to interactive games, this production encourages connections between neighbors, local businesses and the arts.
The show also integrates real-world topics such as environmental stewardship and the preservation of local history, using humor and heart to address these timely issues. It’s a production designed for families, theater enthusiasts and community members who want to see their own stories reflected on stage.
The performance features characters who blend fairy tale archetypes with local color: The Miller seeks to develop the swamp while Cattywampus guards its ancient traditions. Social media influencers Jordan and Morgan document every magical moment, while Ol’ Lady Artiluke weaves folk remedies with enchantments.
This production is made possible through partnerships with local organizations which will bring community voices and authentic local references to the stage.
