Paul Gigante, a professional school photographer since 1991 in Tampa Bay, is hosting a benefit to help less fortunate homeless high school seniors, as they transition after graduation to start college careers. Gigante will host a “H4 Benefit” (Helping Our Homeless High Schoolers Achieve Higher Education) at Skipper’s Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road in Tampa, on Jan. 24 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Entertainment will include the USF “HOT” Pep Band, The Butch Ryan Band, local disc jockeys, and others. There also will be silent auctions, sports memorabilia, gift baskets, a 50/50 raffle, corn hole tournament, photo booth and more. Florida’s largest dog show is at Florida Classic Park, 5360 Lockhart Road in Brooksville, daily, through Jan. 24, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The show is sponsored by Purina and hosted by several Tampa Bay kennel clubs. It boasts 10 American Kennel Club All-Breed Dog Shows, specialty shows, conformation, junior showmanship, obedience trials, rally trials, and free show tours to learn about AKC dog shows. Simply Events will present the “Zephyrhills Pie Festival & Community Pie Bake-off” on Jan. 23 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Zephyr Park, 38116 Fifth Ave. There will be a variety of pie contests, a kids’ coloring contest, local artisans, crafters, exhibitors and businesses, a pie-eating contest and the unlimited pie buffet.
