The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and the Tampa Bay Suicide Prevention Task Force will present a World Suicide Prevention Day event on Sept. 10 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the James A. NAMI OFFERS FAMILY-TO-FAMILY PROGRAM
NAMI Hernando (National Alliance on Mental Illness) will offer a free 12-week family-to-family program starting Sept. 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the NAMI Beautiful Mind Center, 10554 Spring Hill Drive in Spring Hill.
The program is for families and friends of individuals with brain disorders called serious mental illness. The course is taught by trained family members who have lived this experience.
Course topics include an introduction to mental illness, symptoms, basics about brain biology and causes of brain disorders, a problem solving workshop, medication review, a communication skills workshop, self-care, rehabilitation and more.
