New law partner
Rogers Towers, one of Florida’s oldest full-service commercial law firms, is expanding its Tampa Bay office to include attorney and shareholder J. Scott Slater. He joins L. Gavan Grant, the firm’s resident shareholder and manager, and shareholder Gregory F. Lunny.

The law office, at 29152 Chapel Park Drive in Wesley Chapel, opened in 2014. Slater practices in litigation and civil trial work.

Spanish dining
100 Montaditos Wiregrass is serving up a taste of Spain at The Shops at Wiregrass. The restaurant recreates the 19th century feel of a Spanish tavern, serving its signature Montaditos – a crunchy Spanish roll filled with traditional ingredients such as Serrano ham, tortillas and chorizo sauce. The company was founded in 2000 and has locations in Miami, West Palm Beach and Orlando.

Lennar has promoted building executive Jeffrey A. Morin to vice president of sales for its Tampa division. Morin will develop strategies for achieving sales goals and manage the sales teams in Lennar’s Pasco County communities.

Morin has more than 17 years of business management experience, with 12 years in the homebuilding industry. He has had key positions at Lennar for more than five years in marketing, purchasing and most recently as planning manager creating a department that oversaw land development and grand openings in more than 50 new communities in central Florida.

Lennar’s Tampa division, which builds new single-family and townhomes priced from the $100,000 to the $400,000, is currently building in 39 communities in the Tampa Bay market.

Taste of Boston to relocate
Taste of Boston plans to relocate from 1944 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., in the Wiregrass area, to a shopping plaza at 1930 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., in Lutz.

The seafood restaurant will close its location on Bruce B. Downs on May 31, according to manager Ashley Walker. By mid-June Taste of Boston will reopen on Land O’ Lakes Boulevard with more space, an outdoor patio and live music on weekends.

Manufacturers job fair
The Pasco-Hernando State College TRADE Grant Office will host the Florida Manufacturing Career Fair on April 22 from 1 to 4 p.m., at the college’s Spring Hill Campus, 450 Beverly Court. The Career Source Pasco Hernando, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Manufacturers Association of Florida and the Upper Tampa Bay Manufacturing Association also are sponsors.

Awards
Pasco Economic Development Council’s Smart Start incubator program received honorable mention at the 23rd Annual Future of the Region Awards ceremony in St. Petersburg on March 27. The awards are hosted annually by the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council to single out achievements in the public and private sectors for resource planning and management in the Tampa Bay region.

The incubator program mentors emerging and startup companies. Pasco County also received first place awards in the categories of development and infrastructure and going green, and second place award in community service.

Economic briefing
The Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly economic development briefing on April 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Hoosier Grille, located within Heritage Isles Golf & Country Club, 10630 Plantation Bay Drive.

Saint Leo University students
A class assignment with a new Tampa Bay area technology company, Entangle Media, became a real world experience for Saint Leo University students. Rae-Kwon Andrews, Tatiyana Cosme, Cedric Blatch and Elizabeth Schilling assisted the company in its app launch of DealMyBrand.com, a new social media management program.

Entangle Media offers a range of Internet services including web design and maintenance. Saint Leo professor Emma Brown collaborated with James Chittenden, consultant with the Small Business Development Center at University of South Florida, in placing the students at Entangle Media.

Learning center opens
Bricks4Kidz will host a ribbon cutting on April 23 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., at the office of the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce, 6013 Wesley Chapel Blvd.

The learning center will operate at the New Tampa YMCA Meadow Pointe clubhouse and Seven Oaks. The Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Noon needs sponsors for the third annual “BEE Part of the Buzz” adult spelling bee.

Johnson & Johnson to create 700 jobs
The Hillsborough County Commission has agreed to pay up to $2.1 million in incentive payments to Johnson & Johnson Inc., which plans to open a North American shared services headquarters. The deal is expected to produce about 700 jobs.

The county incentives are a match to the state’s $7 million awarded to the pharmaceutical and health care products company to generate higher-wage jobs.

County officials expect Johnson & Johnson to invest $23.5 million while creating jobs with an average annual wage of at least $75,000. The county’s incentives will be paid on a per job basis over four years, beginning in fiscal year 2017.

Starkey Ranch names homebuilder
Taylor Morrison will build 560 homes in the 220-acre Esplanade at Starkey Ranch, one of several subdivisions within the master-planned community in Odessa off State Road 54, according to a press release from Wheelock Communities, Starkey Ranch’s developer.

The gated village will have a private clubhouse, heated resort-style pool and spa, tennis courts and a fitness center. Esplanade is expected to open in early 2016.

The Starkey Ranch Welcome Center will open this spring, with a late spring opening planned for the community’s first subdivision, Whitfield Park.

The Rotary Club of Wesley Chapel Noon needs sponsors for the third annual “BEE Part of the Buzz” adult spelling bee.

The spelling bee will be April 10 at 6:30 p.m., at the Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club, 10641 Old Tampa Bay Drive in San Antonio. Teams compete in three rounds with words progressing in spelling difficulty from easy to intermediate to difficult.

Spectators cheer on their favorite teams in a fun event that helps raise funds for the Pasco Education Foundation. Donations range from $1,500 for a Queen Bee sponsorship to $150 for a four-person team.

The Pasco Economic Development Council is hosting its 13th annual NetFest, which is short for Networking Festival, March 5 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Starkey Ranch on State Road 54 in Odessa.

The Central Pasco Chamber of Commerce is launching a new event this year called the 2015 Community Fun Day and Business Expo.

The event, open to everyone, will spotlight businesses and service providers in the northern area of Hillsborough and the central area of Pasco counties.

There will be fun and games for kids, live entertainment, door prizes and a food truck rally.

The event’s theme is “Keeping It Local — Moving our Businesses Forward.”

The two-day event, free to the public, will be March 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and March 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be at the Land O’ Lakes Recreation Complex, 3032 Collier Parkway in Land O’ Lakes.

Clubhouse at Estancia opens
The Estancia Club at Estancia at Wiregrass had a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Feb. 11.

The club has a private clubroom, state-of-the-art fitness facility, an aquatic center with a resort style pool, a tower water slide and a lap pool.

The clubhouse is located in a master-planned community in Wesley Chapel at 4000 Estancia Blvd.

Grants for businesswomen
