Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) men’s basketball assistant coach Larry Behm is set to be inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame this year.
Before coming to PHSC in 2010, Behm spent 24 years coaching the Onondaga Central boys basketball program in Syracuse, New York. His teams there won 327 games, including numerous league, New York state sectional and regional championships, as well as a New York State Final Four appearance in 2009.
Behm, a Central New York native, is one of 13 inductees into the Hall of Fame’s 2020 class. The official ceremony was originally scheduled for March but has been delayed, due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Behm’s duties at PHSC include recruiting, scouting, practice and game preparation, and assisting the head coach in the day-to-day operation of the basketball program.
Behm has coached a number of players who went on to Division I programs. He has worked at several high-profile camps and has been a guest speaker at various clinics in the Northeast.
