Ecology Florida and Friendship Farms & Fare will host The Florida Loquat Festival on March 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Frances Avenue Park, 6156 Louisiana Ave., in New Port Richey. There will be presentations on the cultivation of loquat trees, how to eat its fruit, how to can it, and cook it. The UF/IFAS Extension Office will present a rainwater harvesting workshop on March 26 at 10 a.m., at the Old Lutz School, 18819 U.S. 41. Participants can learn how rain barrels are useful for collecting rainwater for irrigation, while reducing erosion and storm water runoff. Gulfside Hospice & Pasco Palliative Care is hosting a free community Easter egg hunt on March 26, at its Community Outreach Center, 6224 Lafayette St., in New Port Richey, for children age 10 and younger.
