Tampa Theatre to screen holiday classics

TAMPA – Tampa Theatre plans to screen holiday classics on the big screen.

Some of the upcoming screenings include:

  • “Miracle On 34th Street” (1947) at 3 p.m. Nov. 30. Before the film, guests are invited to meet and snap photos with Santa Claus in front of the Christmas tree, starting at 2 p.m. in the lobby.
  • “White Christmas” (1954) at 3 p.m. Dec. 7. This is a sing-along screening.
  • ”Elf” (2003) at 3 p.m. Dec. 14.
  • “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946) at 7 p.m. Dec. 19 to 23 as well as 3 p.m. Dec. 20 and 21.
  • “Love Actually” (2003) at 3 p.m. Dec. 28.

Tickets for Sing-Along “White Christmas” cost $16.50 ($13.50 for members). All other movies cost $12 ($9 for members) at the historic Franklin Street Box Office or online at TampaTheatre.org

Tampa Theatre and Scatter Brothers Productions will also offer a free community screening of the family-friendly holiday film “Saint Nick of Bethlehem” (2024) on Dec. 6.

Before the film, guests are invited to meet the film’s star, Tampa’s own Daniel Roebuck (“The Munsters” and TV’s “NCIS”), in the lobby starting at 2 p.m.

At 3 p.m., the film tells the story of Nick McNulty (Roebuck), whose downward spiral after the tragic loss of his son leads him to the realization that adopting Santa’s personality allows him to alleviate his heartache one gift at a time.

After the film, guests are invited to stick around for an audience Q&A with members of the cast and crew, followed by a very special visit from Saint Nick.

Admission is free. RSVP is required at TampaTheatre.org.

What’s Happening (10/29/25): RUSH adds Tampa date

October 29, 2025 By justin

RUSH adds more dates to tour

TAMPA – RUSH co-founders Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson announced 17 additional cities on their 2026 headline tour, “Fifty Something,” due to demand.

The tour, celebrating RUSH’s music, legacy and the life of late drummer and lyricist Neil Peart, will stop at Tampa’s Benchmark International Arena at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 2026.

RUSH initially announced shows in seven major North American cities, all of which sold out. These new dates have been added due to the demand for tickets on those dates.

These shows mark the first time Lee and Lifeson have toured together in 11 years since the finale of RUSH’s R40 Tour in 2015 at the Forum in Los Angeles

For “Fifty Something,” Lee and Lifeson will be accompanied by German drummer, composer and producer Anika Nilles, who has performed as Jeff Beck’s drummer for more than 60 shows and has released four solo albums.

RUSH just revealed the 50-track super deluxe anthology, “RUSH 50.” The band has sold more than 45 million albums and earned seven Grammy Award nominations over the course of their career.

Tickets for this event go on sale Oct. 31 at noon at Ticketmaster.com. Advance parking passes are available at ParkWhiz.com. Visit benchmarkintlarena.com or call 813-301-2500 for details.

Sphero Minis offer intuitive coding and a range of programmable features. For example, kids can program their Sphero Minis to follow unique paths and have races through mazes and obstacle courses.

The program, “Explore the World of Sphero Minis,” takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 4 at IMAG, 2000 Cranford Ave. It is part of the “Science Saturdays at the IMAG” series.

Bringing inspiration to life, “Science Saturdays at the IMAG” are fun-filled, family-friendly programs that feature the science, technology, engineering and math of various topics.
